Thought of the Week:

Two major types of Improv Scenes: Relationship or Characters

Untitled design (1)

Character Driven Scenes = Rarely Affected by Others.

Audience cares about how goofy/silly/angry/smart/etc the character is.

**Side Note: We don’t support relationships if the goofy character starts loosing what makes them exciting.  We celebrate individuality.

Relationship Driven Scenes = Other Person’s Action Causes Changes in Them

Audience cares about how the two affect each other.  Which character gets the other mad/in trouble/in love/etc.

**Side Note: We love seeing reaction.  The deeper the connection, the more powerful the reaction.
